Everything You Need to Know VS Bees IHC

MINI MATCH PREVIEW

Bees IHC make their third and final visit of the season to Planet Ice Leeds this Saturday 4th March, and after a 0-point weekend against the Hull Seahawks last week, they currently sit in last place of the league standings. Despite it being a top of the table VS bottom of the table clash, the Bees consistently perform against us and have proven to be a difficult opponent year on year.

Our results so far this season have been a 5-2 win at home, a narrow victory in Slough of 5-4 and a 14-goal thriller at the Castle that ended up in our favour at 8-6. Bees are definitely a team to watch out for and to not be taken lightly, so we need you to join us tomorrow night and be loud and proud for your Leeds Knights!

ONES TO WATCH

The Ones to Watch for Bees IHC are: #23 Dominik Gabaj and #96 Brendan Walkom.

This import duo are lighting things up in Slough this season, scoring for fun on a relatively struggling side, with their individual qualities shining through massively. Gabaj got a promotion this year, becoming the Head Coach of the Bees amid Doug Sheppard’s time at the helm of the club coming to its end.

On the year, the Slovenian-born import has scored 19 times and added 41 assists to his stats sheet, meaning he’s on track for a career year after playing 32 games so far this season. He is ever so slightly beat out by NCAA graduate Brendan Walkom to be the Bees top points scorer, with Walkom logging 67 points through 46 games this season, with an impressive 40 goals scored.

These two are both the ones to watch for the Bees this week, as they pose a threat every time they touch the ice, especially when they’re logging big minutes on the special teams.

The Morley Glass Leeds Knights ones to watch this week is… #12 Kieran Brown.

Following another impressive weekend last week, our captain managed to achieve 100 points in the league season, as well as being just 3 goals shy of 50 on the year, performing at over a goal per game pace, and scoring more than 2 points per game on average!

However, despite Kieran’s phenomenal individual stats, the only thing on his mind is the two points for his team, night in and night out. This Saturday’s game will be no different, with Kieran hoping to lead his team to another victory in this all-important league title race.
