Everything You Need to Know VS Bristol Pitbulls Sunday 26th March

MINI MATCH PREVIEW

The Bristol Pitbulls make their return to the Castle, and this could potentially be their final visit of the season as they currently sit in 9th place and are fighting for a playoff spot, chasing down the Telford Tigers and the Basingstoke Bison who sit just ahead of them in the league standings. In the last 10 games, Bristol have won just 2 games, with one of their wins coming in overtime against the Bees. Where as the Leeds Knights, have won 7 of the last 10, with 2 or those 3 losses coming in overtime!

Playing on back to back nights always spices things up, and both teams have a lot on the line, with the Pitbulls needing every point they can get to see them make it into the playoffs, and the Knights still well in the title race every game is absolutely massive – which is why we need YOU there this Sunday! ONES TO WATCH

The Ones to Watch for the Bristol Pitbulls is: #96 Ben Solder. The left-handed d-man, who many Knights fans will remember from last season, this year made the switch down South as he joined the Bristol Pitbulls who made the step up to the NIHL Planet Ice National Division in September.

In 39 games this season, Ben has posted 21 points in the form of 5 goals and 16 assists, sitting in the top 10 of his team’s top-point scorers. Despite his impressive points performance on the offensive side of the game, Solder excels in defence too, and has been a large part of some big wins that the Pitbulls have grabbed this year – and for that reason, he’s the one to watch on Sunday night!

The Morley Glass Leeds Knights ones to watch this week is… #91 Jake Witkowski.

Jake had an incredible weekend last week, with 3 goals and 3 assists to help the Leeds Knights to get back on track with a 4-point weekend! Jake started things off with a one-timer on the powerplay to fire past the Telford Tigers, an important goal that helped us to a home win! Witkowski’s form continued when he made his first visit to Basingstoke, and another great performance put in by the Boston-Born winger saw us take the two points back to Leeds.

Jake will be looking to keep things going in our back to back games against the Bristol Pitbulls this weekend!
