MINI MATCH PREVIEW

This weekend sees us face the 3rd place Peterborough Phantoms twice in as many nights, and for the final time in the Planet Ice NIHL National Division season at home, as we host them on Saturday night, before Sunday’s visit to Planet Ice Peterborough. We’ve had some extremely competitive games against the Phantoms this season, with a win on all 3 games we’ve played so far.

This Saturday will be the third and final time that we host the Phantoms at The Castle, following last time’s 6-5 OT win not only is it likely to be a goal-filled night to keep everyone on the edge of their seats all night long!

This weekend’s games are some massively important ones, with both the Knights and the phantoms in the league title race, the points on offer could decide the league champions come April.

ONES TO WATCH

The Ones to Watch for the Peterborough Phantoms is… #91 Lukas Sladkovsky, the Czech import joined the Phantoms in the off-season fresh off the back of a 33-point year with the Raiders. Sladkovsky’s point split throughout his career has almost always been around the 50/50 mark on goals and assists, posing a threat every time he skates into the offensive zone, and offering a little bit of unpredictability.

Lukas has some silky soft hands and possesses some great speed, that he will be no doubt looking to use to help his team to victory on Saturday night.

The Morley Glass Leeds Knights ones to watch this week is… #25 Zach Brooks

Zach has had an amazing start to the month of January, carrying a 3 points per game pace through our first 3 months. Zach gives 110% effort every time he touches the ice, and despite his recent scoring prowess offers a great 200-foot game and he isn’t afraid to lay the body either.

With 3 goals and 6 assists already in the books for January, we’re sure Zach will be looking to be on the scoresheet once again this weekend!

POST-GAME PLAYER SIGNINGS:

The post-game signings this Saturday are #24 Dylan Hehir, and #31 Sam Gospel, and they will be available following Saturday’s game in the Planet Ice Bar at the signing table. Grab a picture with the guys, get your shirt signed or just have a quick chat!
