Everything you need to know VS Raiders IHC 25th November
MINI MATCH PREVIEW
The Raiders make their second, and final visit of the league season tomorrow night. In our first home outing against the London-based side, we came out on top in a 6-3 win, and a result like this would be great to get once again. Raiders recently had a great run of form with 5 wins in a row, before losing twice against one of the top teams in the league so far, MK Lightning.
The Raiders did bounce back though, with a win against Bristol last Sunday at the Sapphire. Speaking of streaks, the Leeds Knights are still yet to lose in regulation only dropping 2 points so far with an overtime loss against MK Lightning and a shootout loss against Telford Tigers last week. Both teams will be looking for the 2 points this weekend, as always, but the Knights are looking to stay on top of the league, hot under pressure from both the Lightning and the Phantoms; The Raiders looking to enter the top half of the table, as they currently sit in 7th, 6 points ahead of the Basingstoke Bison.
ONES TO WATCH
A familiar face is tonight’s one to watch for the Raiders, as Harry Gulliver once again returns to the Castle as an opposing team’s player. Harry has a tremendous start to the season with 21 points through the first 18 games of the season, with 6 goals and 15 assists while playing some important minutes in the top 6. Harry is accompanied with a lot of firepower in the forward lines, with new import to the league Mathieu Gomercic having a storming start with almost 2 points per game, boasting an impressive stat line of 11 goals and 19 assists in just 16 games!
Gomercic is one of 3 imports that have iced for Raiders IHC this season, with Adam Laishram and Erik Piatak playing ten games each with 19 and 10 points respectively.
The Morley Glass Leeds Knights ones to watch this week is… #31 Sam Gospel!
Sam currently sits just 3 wins away from 50 as a Leeds Knight, despite having played only 74 games so far! With the fire power that is sure to be on display from both team’s forwards, Sam Gospel is going to be integral if the Knights want to win once again.
It is easy to focus on the scoring of the Knights, with a massive second period where we scored 5 goals last Sunday being a prime example, but Gospel gives us a chance in every game and tomorrow will likely be no different.
Sam currently has a .916 Save percentage on the year, with a 2.71 GAA, and is only bested by Dmitri Zimozdra of the Sheffield Steeldogs, who boasts a .928% and a 2.66 GAA. With impressive stat lines like these, Gospel will be looking to stump the Raiders tomorrow night!
