ONES TO WATCH
The Ones to Watch for the Sheffield Steeldogs is: #21 Alex Graham. The young Brit has split his time this season with two different Sheffield outfits, as he has donned the Sheffield Steelers jersey 8 times so far, logging two assists in the process.
The 20-year-old was born in Sheffield, and has played out of iceSheffield from 2018 onwards, and at the NIHL level he as performed at a 1.68 points per game pace. This season though, he’s having a career year, after scoring 28 times and grabbing 31 assists he sits at 59 points, which is 7 points more than his previous record, in an impressive 12 less games.
In addition to his scoring, Alex is a big presence on the ice physically, and he’s not afraid of making physical plays.
The Morley Glass Leeds Knights ones to watch this week is… #7 Thomas Barry.
Our most recent signing on the defensive front is none other than Sheffield-born 25-year old.
Barry has been steady at the back since his arrival with the Knights in December, rarely putting a foot wrong and making simple, smart plays.
Not only has Tom been impressive in the D-zone, but he has also come up with some massive assists, and goals, to help us to some big wins. Including an important assist in his debut game, on a game-tying goal against the Peterborough Phantoms, a game-tying goal from the slot away in Sheffield.
In the NIHL as we know it, Barry is also having a career year, with 3 goals and 5 assists in 8 league games, he has tied his previous high of 1 goals and 7 assists in 37 less games.
POST-GAME PLAYER SIGNINGS:
Unfortunately there will be no player signings following Friday’s game, with the later than normal face-off of 7:30pm. But don’t worry, player signings will resume next Saturday against the Telford Tigers
