Everything You Need to Know VS Swindon Wildcats
MINI MATCH PREVIEW
The Swindon Wildcats have been a bogey team for us this season, as they handed us our first loss in regulation on their first visit to The Castle back in December in an impressive manner, as well as beating us just last week when we made the visit to Swindon. However, despite splitting the results with 2 wins and 2 losses each, with one of our losses being on penalty shots, our two victories came in a convincing fashion as we beat them 10-5 and 7-1.
Swindon will come to Leeds having faced the Bison on Friday night, which could be a difference maker as we’ll also be playing straight off the back of tonight’s National Cup Final first leg against the Peterborough Phantoms. (Away)
ONES TO WATCH
The One to watch for the Swindon Wildcats is: #89 Tomasz Malasinski
The second-top point scorer in the league, and one of the best imports in the league, is the one to watch for the Wildcats tonight! The ex-Polish international captain is tearing it up this season on a career high 104 points, sandwiched in second place in the scoring race between our very own Cole Shudra and Kieran Brown, who are 4 points behind and 3 points ahead of Malasinski respectively, with Tomasz having played one more game than the Leeds Knights duo.
Along with his high total of points, Malasinski is very much a playmaker, with 64 assists inside the 51 games he’s played, alongside 40 markers of his own, as such, he’s one to watch out for tonight!
The Morley Glass Leeds Knights ones to watch this week is… #27 Cole Shudra.
Joining Kieran Brown and Tomasz Malasinski as the third player of the season to break the 100-point mark, it only seems right to put #27 Cole Shudra in the spotlight!
Cole has been firing on all cylinders all season long, scoring 45 times in just 50 games as well as grabbing 55 assists on the way, meaning he’s on pace for a perfect 2 points per game season. As well as scoring high in terms of frequency, the times Cole scores are often important ones, like in Swindon last Saturday he scored the opener, and the only goal on the night on our way to picking up a huge point for the league title race!
Cole is almost always good for a goal, so keep your eyes peeled on him tonight and he may just deliver!
