Everything You Need to Know VS Telford Tigers Saturday 18th February

MINI MATCH PREVIEW

The last time we faced the Tigers, we took a trip to Shropshire on Sunday night and 12 goals later we left the county with the 2 points! It was very much a battle of the special teams, with #91 Jake Witkowski grabbing two wonderful one-timers from the left circle on the powerplay, and #94 Luka grabbing two powerplay goals of his own in the third period to try and mount a come back for his team, with it just not being enough as the Knights put the puck past Brad Day 8 times.

Despite the result after our last game with Telford, they have since turned things up a notch, and they’ll enter the Castle on the back of a 3-game win streak, with their last two victories been a 5-3 win in Peterborough and a 6-3 win against the Sheffield Steeldogs. Telford have a lot of attacking prowess, scoring 6 goals on average in their last 3 games, but they have a strong goaltender in the form of Brad Day too, who on his ‘day’ can steal a win for his side.

ONES TO WATCH

The Ones to Watch for the Telford Tigers is: #7 Rory Herrmann. The Canadian import recently made the switch North from Cardiff to Telford after struggling with the Devils in the EIHL, but he has really come into his own in the early stages of his move to the Tigers.

In just 8 games, Herrmann has tallied 19 points, with 13 of those being goals! Herrmann’s goal scoring ability, has been a large part of the Telford’s recent run of form and they sit in 8th place 4-points ahead of the Bristol Pitbulls, and just one behind the Basingstoke Bison. With their recent beating of the Peterborough Phantoms and Sheffield Steelodgs, confidence will be high for the Tigers, and it seems as though they’re peaking at just the right time as the playoffs loom.

The Morley Glass Leeds Knights ones to watch this week is… #33 Finn Bradon.

After scoring his ‘first’ goal on Tuesday night in Sheffield, to help earn the Knights a point by sending the game into overtime with a one-timer! Finn will be looking to double his tally and score another big goal to help the Knights win on Saturday night, and with his new line-mates of #27 Cole Shudra and #25 Zach Brooks, a goal could very well be on the cards.

Finn did score earlier in the season against MK Lightning, as he once again helped us get into overtime with a massive goal in the second period, but he was unfortunately never awarded the goal on paper! Not only is Finn the ‘One to Watch’ on Saturday night, but at just 16 years of age, he may well be ‘One to Watch’ for years to come!
