Today the Leeds Knights are ecstatic to confirm the return of Ethan Hehir for the 22-23 season!

Since the inception of ice hockey in Leeds, Ethan has been a mainstay on the roster and that will continue for a third season as he’s set to return to The Castle this September! In his first season as a Knight, Ethan grabbed 9 goals and 17 assists for a total of 26 points in 64 games, a decent return!

Ethan is the definition of a workhorse and was a massive part of the Knights’ successes throughout our first season! On some nights Hehir would end up logging almost 30 minutes time on ice with relentless forechecking, grinding and a true defensive specialist with some impressive penalty killing displays.

On his return Ethan had this to say:

When I heard Ryan wanted me back, I couldn’t say no. Leeds have the best fans in the league and with a great coach like Ryan here it just made since for me to stay. Aldy is putting a winning team together and I can’t wait to be back on the ice and to fill the Castle this September!

Head Coach Ryan Aldridge was elated to be able to bring Ethan back for a third year in the yellow and blue, with players like Ethan being invaluable to a team looking to win.

Bringing Ethan back was important to us, he was a big part of the team last season and he put a real shift in every time he stepped on the ice – which on some nights was almost half of the game. He came up massive for us towards the end of the season, and with added forward depth I’m sure he’ll be even better this year.
