Leeds Knights Weekend Preview vs MK Lightning 12/13th March

The Knights look forward to a weekend of hockey in which we face Milton Keynes Lightning in back-to-back games. Saturday sees the Knights travel to Milton Keynes for the first game of the weekend! The following day, Sunday the 13th sees the Knights return to Elland Road where we’ll host the Lightning!

Across the 3 previous games the two teams have played, a total of 24 goals have been scored! The Knights have come away with 3 wins out of 5, including back to back wins the last time the teams faced off – a 4-2 win in MK before coming home and beating the Lightning once more, this time 8-2!

With back-to-back games and both teams in such close proximity in the league standings, this weekend is set to be monumental.

Milton Keynes currently sit 2nd in the league standings, with 49 points they are only a singular point ahead of 3rd place Swindon Wildcats, followed by the Knights as we sit in fourth with 46 points. Two wins for the Lightning could see them make a late charge for the league as they chase the Telford Tigers, whereas two wins for the Knights would keep us ahead of the Steeldogs, ahead of the Lightning and potentially in 2nd – dependent on other teams’ results.

The points on offer this weekend are some of the most valuable of the season, as the games remaining in the regular season become less and less as we look to get a good run into some playoff hockey!
