Match Preview VS Peterborough Phantoms 26th March

This week is crunch time for the Knights, and we start the weekend off at home! The Peterborough Phantoms travel to Elland Road, and the Knights travel to Slough the night after to face the Bees.

The Knights enter the weekend on the hunt for 2nd place in the NIHL, as we chase down the Swindon Wildcats who are currently 3 points ahead. The point difference means that both games this weekend are a must win!

We take on the Peterborough Phantoms first, who have won 4 games out of their last 5, including a big win over the Swindon Wildcats. The Phantoms are currently in 6th in the NIHL, 5 points behind the Steeldogs in 5th and 6 points ahead of the Bison. The recent form of the Phantoms is something for the Knights to be wary of, as is the Czech forward duo of Ales Padelek and Petr Stepanek, who are the players to watch this weekend!

In the current standings of the NIHL National, there is only 4 points between 5th place and 2nd place, meaning that any of these teams can finish as high as second, or as low as fifth. This means that this game is a massive one for the Knights, as they both look to be seeded higher in the NIHL Final Four playoffs competition. Read more about how the playoffs work here.
