Knights Lock In Matty Davies
Leeds Knights lock in forward Matty Davies. Davies is expected to be a huge player for the Knights and has exciting credentials! Matty Davies has secured 2 league titles – during the 16/17 campaign with Telford Tigers and the 18/19 campaign with Hull Pirates. Despite injury in the 19/20 season, Davies secured a massive 54 points in only 23 games (18 goals. 34 assists).
When asked about Dave Whistle, Davies said
“I’m really excited to come and play for somebody like Dave. He’s pretty much won everything over here. The first time I ever spoke to Dave we were on the phone for about an hour, chatting about all kinds of things, golf etc – he is such a nice, likeable guy and I’m sure he’s excited about taking what is essentially a young team on and moulding that team into what he wants.”
On returning onto the ice, Davies said
“I have missed the competitive side of things that I always got from hockey – everyone says that once they stop playing. I can’t lose, I’ve just got that thing in me where I hate losing – it’s just how I am and I have missed that in my life, so I’m really excited to get back playing again.”
