The year 2024 will go down as another historic chapter in Leeds Knights’ story, as we proudly retained the NIHL National Division league title. Securing back-to-back league championships is an incredible achievement that speaks to the depth of talent and commitment within the team. Everyone played a crucial role in maintaining our position at the top of the league, and to do so in such a competitive division is something we can all be immensely proud of. It’s a true reflection of our hard work and the winning mentality we’ve built over the past few seasons.
While we didn’t achieve the desired result in the NIHL National League play-off final, reaching that stage for the second year in a row was still a tremendous accomplishment. The journey to the final was packed with challenges, but once again, we showed resilience, character, and passion to make it back to the showpiece event. While it was disappointing to fall short of the ultimate prize, our play-off run was a testament to the strength of the squad and our determination to compete at the highest level. The future is incredibly bright, and the lessons learned from this year will undoubtedly fuel our ambitions moving forward.
We are also thrilled to qualify for the NIHL National Cup final, another significant milestone in a remarkable year for the club. Reaching the final of the National Cup is an exciting indication of the direction we're headed in. The chance to compete for another piece of silverware is something we’re all looking forward to, and we know our supporters are just as excited to see us battle for it.
Captain Kieran Brown reached a remarkable milestone in 2024, surpassing 450 points for the club. This impressive achievement highlights his consistent excellence and leadership on the ice, further cementing his legacy as one of the club’s all-time greats!
