Leeds Knights defenceman Bailey Perre says confidence is high in the camp after back-to-back shut-out victories last weekend, as the Knights now turn their focus to a single-game showdown against the Solway Sharks this Sunday at The Castle.

Reflecting on the 4-point weekend, Perre highlighted the growing unity within the team, saying: “We all sort of came together… we’re starting to buy into what we’re sowing into the organisation.”

Saturday’s home win over Romford was followed by a huge road performance in Basingstoke, securing another shut-out and, more importantly, booking the Knights’ place in the PINIHL National Cup semi-finals. Perre was quick to credit his goaltender, adding: “Gozzy’s Gozzy… he’s going to play his mind out every time for us, so a shut-out is a nice reward for him.”

With just one fixture on the schedule this weekend, preparations shift slightly as the Knights fine-tune for their clash against Solway. Perre explained the difference a one-game weekend brings: “You can throw everything at one game… try to stay around the boys, stay as a collective, and roll it into Sunday.”

The Knights will look to carry their momentum into a key home outing as they aim to keep climbing and continue their strong form in front of the Knights faithful.
