Matt Bissonnette Returns to Leeds Knights for 2025/26 Season

The Morley Glass Leeds Knights are thrilled to announce that forward Matt Bissonnette will be returning for the 2025/26 season!

Matt’s impact on the Knights was undeniable from the moment he stepped onto the ice in 2024. In his debut season in Leeds colours, Bissonnette lit up the NIHL with an astonishing 115 points in just 65 appearances, including 28 goals and 87 assists. His playmaking ability, hockey IQ, and consistency were central to the Knights' historic League and Cup double, with Matt proving to be one of the league’s standout stars all season long.

Known for his silky hands, vision, and leadership, Bissonnette quickly became a fans' favourite at The Castle and played a crucial role in shaping the team’s identity both on and off the ice.

Leeds Knights Head Coach Ryan Aldridge commented: "It’s great to have Biss back. He came in last year and did exactly what we expected and more. He was a huge part of the room and a father figure to the younger boys. He leads our group in a very unique way that I think is a perfect fit for us. On the Ice.. well, we all know he sees the ice better than most. Biss was a MASSIVE part last season’s success. He came to Leeds to win and luckily, we managed to do that.”

Matt Bissonnette added: "I’m so happy to be back and can’t wait to put the Knights jersey on again! The organization, the fans, and my teammates made it an easy decision to sign on for another year. It’s a privilege to play here, and I’m looking forward to getting things started in September!”

With Bissonnette back in the line-up for 2025/26, Knights fans can look forward to another season of high-octane hockey, and plenty of points from #73.

Welcome back, Biss!
