The Leeds Knights head into the 2026/27 season with momentum both on and off the ice following a successful 2025/26 campaign for the club.
Last season saw the Knights lift silverware as they were crowned Play-off Champions in Coventry, adding another major honour to the club's growing list of achievements. It was a season defined not only by success on the ice, but by the unwavering backing of the Knights faithful, who turned The Castle into one of the toughest rinks to play in.
Supporters packed the stands throughout the season with Yorkshire derbies selling out, an overall season average attendance of 85%, and an average attendance exceeding 90% of the venue's capacity from January onwards. The atmosphere reached another level during the battle for a place in the ‘Final Four’, as the Knights recorded the highest average attendance for play-off fixtures in the club's history, with fans playing a huge role in the team's memorable run to the Play-off Championship.
With just one month remaining until the opening face-off our 2026/27 pre-season games where we start with the challenge of European opposition – the Tilburg Trappers – before a Yorkshire derby to set the tone for the season, the anticipation is already building.
The enthusiasm shown by supporters has continued throughout the summer, with a rise of over 22% in season ticket sales ahead of the 26/27 season. The increase reflects the growing excitement surrounding the club and the continued belief in Ryan Aldridge's squad, as the Knights prepare to challenge once again with a talented mix of returning favourites and exciting new additions.
Last season also demonstrated the strength of the Knights’ player pathway with 12 Under-18 players icing for the senior team throughout the campaign. The club’s young talent stepped up and made valuable contributions during the season, highlighting the depth of talent emerging and the club’s commitment to providing opportunities for the next generation. With a number of those players now a year older and more experienced, the future continues to look bright for the Knights.
The Castle has become renowned for its electric atmosphere, with supporters creating an environment that players and visiting teams alike recognise as one of the very best in the NIHL. As more fans commit to joining the Knights family for the season ahead, another campaign of packed crowds and unforgettable nights looks set to be on the horizon.
