The Morley Glass Leeds Knights are proud to introduce NEW signing, Krisjanis Fugalis!
Krisjanis, born in Latvia, is a left-handed d-man, coming in at 6’0” and 90kg he brings with him a whole heap of physicality, as well as offering high-end product at both ends of the ice.
Fugalis has spent the last 5 seasons in the Canadian junior system and in Latvia the previous two seasons. Most recently he iced 32 times in the NOJHL, scoring 6 times and logging 11 assists. With the 21-year old no stranger to Head Coach Ryan Aldridge, having played in Swindon as a junior before his move to Latvia in 2017.
Fugalis has followed a very similar path to our #8 Bow Neely, which is an exciting prospect to consider, with Bow being our Defenseman of the year! To help you get to know Krisjanis a little more, hear fro Head Coach Ryan Aldridge about our latest signing!: I knew Kris when he was younger playing in Swindon. He's gone on to play in some solid junior leagues both in Europe and North America too. He moves well, shoots well, can play an offensive game and likes to take the body and I'm looking forward to working with Kris again his season."
We also spoke to Krisjanis himself ahead of the move and he can’t wait to get things going this September! – “I'm extremely excited to join the Leeds Knights! I’ve heard nothing but great things about the team and the fans, I'm looking forward to reconnecting and working with Coach Ryan again and can’t wait to play with the guys at The Castle in front of the great fans!”
