It has been a season to remember for Leeds Junior Knights, with the club's junior programme delivering another stunning haul of silverware, including two national titles, to confirm their status as the powerhouse of junior ice hockey in England.

Under-14s: Four in a Row

The remarkable story continues at Under-14 level, where Leeds claimed their fourth consecutive national championship with a dominant 12–4 victory over Nottingham in the final.

The standout performer on the day was Caiden Mellor, who was named MVP after producing 4 goals and 4 assists as a defenceman. Mellor came through the club's own Hockey Excellence programme since its launch, making his display all the more fitting as a testament to what Leeds Junior Knights are developing from within.

Under-16s: Back-to-Back National Champions

The Under-16s matched the feat of their younger counterparts, claiming the national title for the second year running to complete a remarkable league and cup double. Having already secured the D1 Northern League, they headed to IceSheffield and defeated Guildford 4–1 in the final.

Goalkeeper Harrison McCourt set the tone by stopping a penalty shot, and goals from Ferris Groot, Evan Bradon, Ollie Straw and Ben Elliot sealed a convincing win. Back-to-back national champions, and still hungry for more.

Under-19s: Valiant Exit Despite Injury Blow

The Under-19s bowed out at the semi-final stage against Swindon, but the circumstances make their performance all the more commendable. Goals from Daragh Spawforth and Josh Hartley kept Leeds in contention throughout, and goalkeeper Ben Clarke-Leach was outstanding, saving 36 shots. A late goal ultimately gave Swindon a 4–2 victory, but Leeds pushed them every step of the way.

The squad was badly hit by injuries going into the game, with Kurts, Danny and Edgars all absent. Remarkably, Frank returned to the ice for the first time since suffering an injury during the playoffs and stepped up to play. That kind of character runs through this entire club.

A Record That Speaks for Itself

Since becoming eligible for the national finals in 2023, Leeds Junior Knights have won six national titles, four at Under-14 and two at Under-16. Add three U14 North League titles, two U16 League titles, and both the U14 and U16 D2 leagues in their very first season, and the scale of what this club has built becomes clear.

Leeds Junior Knights are not just winning. They are setting the standard for junior ice hockey in this country.
