Leeds Knights Add Final Import with Signing of Liam Peyton
The Morley Glass Leeds Knights are delighted to announce the signing of forward Liam Peyton for the 2025/26 season. The Canadian joins the roster as our final import signing and brings a wealth of high-level experience from major junior, university and professional hockey.
Peyton, a 6'2" forward from Nova Scotia spent the last four seasons playing USports hockey with Dalhousie University, where he developed his game against some of the top university-level talent in Canada. Once school had finished Liam finished the season off in the ECHL with the Trois-Rivières Lions who went on to win the ECHL. This opportunity gave him valuable knowledge into the demands of the pro game and furthered his development heading into the next stage of his career.
Peyton is a hardworking two-way centre who excels in the tough areas of the ice. He is team-first, leads by example and is a natural presence in the room and Head Coach Ryan Aldridge said. “I am again excited by the signing of Liam. The references I received blew me away on the type of person he is and the way he plays the game. He has played at a very high standard since his Major Junior days and we are looking forward to him bringing that compete and hard work he is know for to the Knights.”
Liam Peyton is also delighted to be joining the Knights, stating “There seems to be a tremendous sense of community and excitement at the Knights that I could sense just from scrolling through social media and reading about ‘The Castle’ and what you hear about the team and the organisation and it felt special. Leeds is obviously a very competitive programme that has consistently put together a winning team over the past few years.
It feels like it is a really tremendous fit. The competitive nature of Leeds was also a real draw for me - the fans, the community - you can already tell how much passion is involved in the team. Passionate and competitive are the two words which I believe are at the forefront of my game. I’m somebody who wants to be trusted in every setting of the game.”
Peyton becomes the latest piece in the Knights' recruitment puzzle and adds depth and experience to a strong forward group as preparations continue for the new campaign.
