Leeds Knights Honoured with Civic Reception by the Lord Mayor of Leeds


The Morley Glass Leeds Knights were formally recognised for their outstanding achievements and contribution to the city’s sporting landscape yesterday at a prestigious Civic Reception hosted by the Lord Mayor of Leeds, Councillor Dan Cohen.


Held at the Civic Hall, the event brought together players, club officials and distinguished guests to celebrate the Knights’ continued success and their growing impact within the community. The reception highlighted not only the team’s accomplishments on the ice but also their commitment to inspiring fans across Leeds.

The Lord Mayor praised the Leeds Knights for embodying the spirit and pride of the city noting their role as ambassadors for putting ice hockey right at the heart of Leeds. The Lord Mayor’s Consort for the day was the Mayor’s daughter Gabriella who delivered a wonderful speech on behalf of the younger Knights fans highlighting the safe and welcoming atmosphere at games for the younger generation.

Joining the celebrations was principal partner Morley Glass whose ongoing support has played a vital role in the club’s development and achievements.
