The Morley Glass Leeds Knights are delighted to announce that #11 Matt Haywood has re-signed for the 24/25 season!
All summer long we've seen the comments, the requests, the pleading to please bring Matt Haywood back to The Castle and we can officially confirm that Head Coach Ryan Aldridge has done just that!
"Having Matty back again was huge for the team and selfishly, myself. He is a level head in all situations, a bouncing board for me and it goes without saying a massive part of us both on and off the ice. I am truly grateful for both his and his family’s commitment to Leeds and I am glad they are all with us for another year!"
During his two seasons with us, Matt has played 125 games, scored 85 times, assisted 145 goals for a grand total of 230 points, putting him in 2nd place all-time, behind only Kieran Brown.
On his return, which we have waited all summer to announce, Matt said - "We can’t wait to be back again at the castle for a third season, as a family have felt so welcome and appreciated have loved it so far.
Can’t wait to do it again this season and hopefully carry on growing this already great club. We are looking forward to getting started and seeing everyone again soon!"
