The Morley Glass Leeds Knights are excited to announce the re-signing of Canadian forward Liam Peyton for the 2026/27 season.
The 26-year-old enjoyed an outstanding first season in blue and yellow, quickly establishing himself as a key part of the Knights’ forward group and making a significant impact both on and off the ice.
Peyton recorded an impressive 50 points in 54 games regular season games, before adding a further 18 points across the National Cup and Play-off competitions.
A standout moment for the Alberta-born forward came on the biggest stage of the season as he scored twice in the play-off final in Coventry against Yorkshire rivals, the Hull Seahawks. His performance helped guide the Knights to their sixth trophy in four years, as well as Peyton’s first of his Leeds Knights career.
Standing at 6’2, he is a hardworking two-way centre who joined the Knights organisation with a wealth of high-level experience from major junior, university and professional hockey, most notably spending the four seasons prior to his move to the UK, playing USports hockey with Dalhousie University.
His consistency, hockey IQ and ability to contribute in all situations made him a player that could be relied upon in the dressing room, impressing supporters along the way.
On his return to Leeds, Peyton said: “I couldn’t be happier to be returning to Leeds for another season and continuing my career as a Knight. Raising a trophy at the end of last year was a special moment, and it left not only myself but our entire group hungry for more this upcoming season. We have more titles to bring back to Leeds, and I can’t wait to be back in the Castle with all of you. See you in August, Leeds!”
Head Coach Ryan Aldridge said: “It’s great to have Liam back for another year. He was another huge part of our success last year and came up big for us at so many key moments. He is a big strong power forward who is hard to contain and knows how to put the puck in the net. He has a great bond with the boys and is a true professional in every way. I feel we will see even more for Liam in his second year.”
The re-signing of Peyton represents another piece of the puzzle as the Knights continue to build their roster for the 2026/27 campaign. We can’t wait to welcome Liam back to The Castle.
Club partners North America Travel Service are thrilled that the Albertan has committed to another season.
