This weekend we take on the Bristol Pitbulls in a double header that starts on the road on Saturday, and returns to The Castle on Sunday.
It's an important battle for points in the league with the table tightening at the top - we sit in third place behind the Swindon Wildcats and Sheffield Steeldogs.
The opposition
The Pitbulls are coming into the weekend off the back of two huge wins in the league.
They beat the Romford Raiders on home ice (4-2) on Saturday, and then secured an overtime victory over the Peterborough Phantoms (4-5) away from the Pound on Sunday. They currently sit inside the playoff positions in 8th spot with 28 points and 33 games played.
Canadian forward Jake Bricknell leads the points and goalscoring for the Pitbulls with 56 points in 33 games played. He has an even split of 28 assists and 28 goals - five of which have been scored on the powerplay.
Speaking on the opposition, Knights captain Kieran Brown said: "They're a hard-working team, well coached, so it's always a good game when we play them."
One to watch
One to watch on the visiting team is British forward Bayley Harewood who is on a two-way with Elite League side, Cardiff Devils. Despite only icing in 20 games for the Pitbulls this season (due to also icing in the EIHL), he has recorded 26 points and 11 goals. He scored the overtime winner for his side on Sunday and will be looking to cause similar upset against the Knights this weekend.
However, Sam Gospel is in net for the Knights and will not make it easy for the Pitbulls to get on the scoresheet as he leads the league in save percentage with 92.95%.
Top points scorer for the Knights, Kieran Brown, reached 50 points for the 25/26 season last week against the Peterborough Phantoms. He is in form with nine points from his last five games played and will be hoping to lead his team to a weekend of victories.
The forward looked ahead to the games against the Pitbulls saying: "Training has been good this week, always high intensity at the start of the week and then we slow things down towards the end.
"I'm excited [for the weekend] after that strange game and losing at home - we are looking to bounce back.
"We have been very good in certain situtations in recent games and can be so dangerous at times."
The Castle is 85% sold out for our game on Sunday and with an earlier face-off time of 4:15pm, it's perfect for all the family. The captain said: "Having The Castle sold out instantly gives us the advantage, it’s like having an extra boost playing infront of the big crowds."
So we need you there this weekend, Knights fans. We can't wait to see you down at The Castle.
