Things heat up for ice hockey team Leeds Knights thanks to partnership with Thermos® UK
Leeds-based Thermos UK® has announced its sponsorship of the league-topping ice hockey team Leeds Knights.
The Knights, who are currently undefeated this season and top of the Planet Ice NIHL National Division, play at its home ground The Castle at Planet Ice Leeds.
Thermos is sponsoring one of the team’s top scorers, forward Grant Cooper, as well as the Man of the Match award. The company has also provided the full team with food flasks, so they can enjoy a warm meal after training or on the road, pump pots for hot drinks and products to be used for the Man of the Match prize.
More than 40,000 fans watched the Knights in more than 30 games in the 21-22 season, in a sport which is gaining more popularity in the UK every year.
Warwick Andrews, MD of the Leeds Knights, said: “Our partnership with Thermos has been one of the highlights of our season so far. The Thermos brand, it’s quality and what they do fits so well for us as an ice hockey team. Introducing a Thermos ‘gift’ as part of our Man of the Match presentation is unique within the National League and the players now covet the Thermos products! What’s more, as part of the partnership, the players have new flasks to keep their food hot for the long road trips. We couldn’t be happier with our partnership and we are thankful to Thermos for offering a special discount for our season ticket holders too. They are the partners who keep on giving. We are already talking about new ideas and competitions during the season and looking forward to working with the team in the longer term.”
Nick Kime, MD at Thermos UK, added: “Some of the team here at Thermos have been huge fans of the Leeds Knights for years and when they put forward the partnership it immediately sounded like something we wanted to get involved with. It’s fantastic to be supporting such a successful local team and also giving them access to products to keep things either piping hot or ice cold, which seems apt given where they spend their days!”
