LK Planet Ice National Ice Hockey League National Division league champions for 202223

WE ARE 22/23 LEAGUE CHAMPIONS

After a lengthy league campaign, and following a 4-2 win in Telford last night, the Morley Glass Leeds Knights have been crowned Planet Ice National Ice Hockey League National Division league champions for 2022/23.

Heading into the season, the first full season under head coach Ryan Aldridge, the Knights started in a style which would send an ominous tone through the National League. So much so, through 52 games so far, the Knights have only suffered 4 regulation defeats and a super impressive 43 victories along the way.

The performances have seen us crowned champions with four matches remaining in the regular season but the message from the Knights is simple, we’re not done yet.

This coming Friday sees us hit the ice for the first time as champions looking to secure the second piece of silverware in the cup final against the Peterborough Phantoms. Could we secure the biggest comeback of the year yet? There’s only one place to be on Friday to find out. Fans can also join the Knights on Sunday night at home as we play our first league game as league champions.

After this, the focus will switch to the playoffs, the end of season competition culminating in Coventry at the NIHL Final Four weekend with fans from all the teams in attendance.

Ice hockey in Leeds is in it’s infancy, but the Knights are here to stay. With crucial parts of the teams secured for next season in Sam Gospel, Kieran Brown, Josh Hodgkinson and Cole Shudra, things are building in Leeds.

This is our first taste of silverware, but the plan is for this to be the first of many.

Thank you for all your support!
