What are Playoffs?

Playoffs is elimination style hockey and one of the longest standing traditions in ice hockey, in a post-season showdown for the final piece of silverware of the season!

Our playoffs begin with a two-legged Quarter-Final, played on back to back nights, with the winner making their way to the ‘Final Four’ in Coventry. Your opponent in the playoff quarter final is decided in a seeded format from the finalised league standings, with 1st v 8th, 2nd v 7th and so on – meaning the quarter-final fixtures are as follows:

Leeds Knights VS Basingstoke Bison

MK Lightning VS Telford Tigers

Peterborough Phantoms VS Raiders IHC

Sheffield Steeldogs VS Swindon Wildcats

The winners of the Playoff Quarter-Finals, and headed to Coventry for the Final Four are:

Leeds Knights

Telford Tigers

Raiders IHC

Sheffield Steeldogs

The Final Four

The Final Four in Coventry is the biggest event of the season for the Planet Ice NIHL National Division, as fans of all 11 teams show up in huge numbers for a jam-packed weekend of hard-hitting Playoff hockey.

Saturday 15th April boasts two semi-final games, which are elimination games, and with everything on the line you can be sure that all 4 teams will be putting everything on the line to make it through to the Grand Final on Sunday afternoon.

The first game on Sunday 16th April is also a final, as the winners of the NIHL 1 South and the NIHL 1 North fight for the right to be crowned champions of the NIHL 1!

Tickets for the Final Four are available here.
