The Morley Glass Leeds Knights are delighted to announce this years annual Teddy Bear Toss game will be held on Saturday 9th December when we host the Telford Tigers at ‘The Castle’.
Our annual Teddy Bear Toss is one of the highlights on the calendar with the fans coming together throwing teddies onto the ice as a way of donating them to Children over the Christmas period.
This year, we’ll be partnering with Children’s Heart Surgery Fund (CHSF) once again, who play a massive role in distributing the teddies to children being treated within the Leeds Congenital Heart Unit (LCHU) and their siblings. CHSF were founded in 1988 and have awarded many millions in grants to the LCHU thanks to public donations.
Every donation given to Children’s Heart Surgery Fund, big or small, makes a massive difference. The charity supports the heart, mind, family and future of congenital heart disease patients, with life-saving medical equipment, parent accommodation and financial, emotional and practical help for families.
If you’re interested in seeing more about CHSF please visit their website and take a look for yourselves at what amazing work they do in the Leeds area, and all across our region! https://www.chsf.org.uk/
Over the last 2 years, our fans have helped us donate 951 teddies to Children’s Heart Surgery Fund! This year we are aiming to surpass 1000 teddies donated and so we hope all our fans will help us to achieve this wonderful milestone, for an amazing cause!
How does the Teddy Bear Toss work?
The concept is simple, when Leeds Knights score their first goal, you’ll need to air the bear and throw your teddies onto the ice, and they’ll then be collected up and taken to charity. Please make sure the teddies are NEW and put in a plastic bag to keep them clean.
Pencil the date in your calendar, book your tickets here and start putting those teddies to one side, we can’t wait to support the CHSF once more!
